    Kevin and Pamela Cain

Kevin and Pamela Cain have been have been involved in mission work with World Team since 1986. World Team provides vast resources to help individuals and churches know how and where to get involved in bringing God's Kingdom to people everywhere. There are opportunities for short-term involvement, training, long-term involvement, teaching, community development, leadership training and much more.

Kevin has seen more than 200 people step out in faith toward cross-cultural ministry. And now, after 13 years in World Team recruiting, he is changing roles. His new role is working with local church leadership in dealing with missions. The Great Commission to “Go and make disciples of all nations …” was given to the church at large, with details to be worked out in the local church. Kevin’s passion is connecting churches - not just individuals - in partnership with agencies like World Team that have the resources to help churches fulfill their responsibility to disciple the nations.

“Empowering the church to develop its vision both locally and globally is the major component of my new role (ChurchLink)”, says Kevin. “I'm thrilled about seeing individuals and their churches take on the awesome task of sharing our spiritual resources with other people groups.”

This map shows many of the areas where World Team is active. For example, an area just below the Sahara was crying out for World Team to help the African missionaries already in place. Churches with a vision for missions can partner with World Team’s experts and benefit from World Team’s resources. The harvest is plentiful!

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Cains:
    - Pray for Kevin, Pam, Zachary and Kelsie - for physical health and spiritual zeal and effectiveness.
    - Pray for wisdom for Kevin in his new role, ChurchLink.
    - Pray for Zach as he heads off to Philadelphia Biblical University's Wisconsin Wilderness Campus.
    - Pray for Kelsie in her junior year at high school. She is preparing to be a special ed teacher.
    - Pray also for yourself and your loved ones: Do you have a burden for unreached people groups? Are you praying for church multiplication movements? Pray about being involved in a missions outreach such as WorldTeam.

    Bruce and Sue Camp

Bruce Camp spent eight years as missions pastor under Chuck Swindoll and then 13 years as a church missions consultant for the Evangelical Free Church Mission. During that time, OCF was just getting started, and founding pastor Duke Winser consulted with Bruce for advice and direction as OCF began to look at missions involvement.

In 2001, after extensive experience as a missions trainer, coordinator and pastor, Bruce founded DualReach. DualReach is able to help local churches mobilize to meet their outreach mandates through training and consulting with mission agencies. Their primary ministries are providing quality training, consultation and missions education resources.

DualReach's vision is to help thousands of churches to be more effective and strategic in world missions. They teach church leaders to embrace a specific world evangelism focus (such as a people group, or a village) and carry that passion back to their congregations. For instance, a church made a difference in Congo by involving their entire congregation in a World Impact Project helping widows and orphans with home-job skills, school needs, and more.

Recent travels also include the World Evangelical Alliance General Assembly in Thailand – with over 500 evangelicals in attendance. Before attending the conference, Bruce had asked for prayer that he would be led to people that he could assist. The very first evening of the conference he met and spoke with the General Secretary of the Evangelical Association in Malawi, Africa. He was immediately invited to come to Africa. (See prayer needs, below.)

DualReach staff members each serve their home church as directors for the various global missions outreach ministries. Being part of the pastoral staff of a contemporary congregation keeps them current on the changing dynamics of mobilizing a church for effective world outreach. There is a wealth of practical information available at www.dualreach.org, and you can also sign up for the Synergy Newsletter - a free, occasional email newsletter designed to provide practical ideas and help to local church missions leaders. Articles include partnering with overseas churches, educating children about missions, and much more.

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Camps
-Pray for Bruce and Sue - for continual spiritual growth and a healthy marriage.
-Pray for their son, Josh, away at college.
-Pray for increased finances. Like all missionaries, the Camps’ finances seem to ebb and flow.
-Pray for wisdom and confirmation for Bruce regarding the contact he met at the Assembly in Thailand. Should he go to Africa and assist churches in Malawi?

    Mike and Donna Gunn

Mike and Donna Gunn, along with their children Justin and Charissa, have been in mission work for over 16 years. The Gunns left OCF in 1993, after Mike had served here as the Associate Pastor. They moved to Seattle where he worked for Athletes in Action. In 1996, while still working with Athletes in Action, Mike and Donna helped start a church in Seattle called Mars Hill, which has since grown to 7000-plus members in the least-churched city in America.

Then in 2002, Mike and Donna took another leap of faith and started another church in Seattle called Harambee, a Swahili term that means “Together Pushing Forward.” Mike is currently the lead pastor and church planter. Harambee is in the process in sending some of their Harambee people to Chicago to launch a church plant, and they hope to launch another plant in the Seattle area soon. Their after-school program has over 80 middle school and high school students daily.

The Gunns have a heart for missions and they put a tremendous amount of time into bringing the love of Jesus Christ to those around the world. Mike is the Acting Director of Acts 29 International, which is a church-planting agency started by Mars Hill Church. Mike reports that 800 pastors have been trained since January 2007, representing approximately 1000 churches and 100,000 people - most of them saved out of Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam.

They have worked on 3 continents (African, Asian, European) and since January of 2007 have conducted official Boot Camps in India, Thailand, Zambia, S. Africa and the DR Congo. This year Mike will be doing at least 5 boot camps overseas, and probably more. Much of the gospel in these places is a prosperity gospel with moralistic preaching. Many of these areas are impoverished and stricken with HIV/AIDS, and the church’s self-centered gospel is weak and impotent to do anything about it. Islam is gaining a massive foothold in this world while the church sleeps! Mike’s goal is to find more Acts 29 men that are willing to help shoulder the load to train men to be trainers in their own countries.

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Gunns:
    - Pray for the Gunn family - for health, wisdom, finances - and pray that their family would continue to be strong together and in the Lord!
    - Pray for safety in all their ministry travels.
    - Pray that the Lord will continue to lead and prosper the church plants undertaken by Harambee.
    - Pray for Mike to find more laborers willing to help with training men to be trainers in their own countries.
    - Pray for God’s blessing upon the newly trained pastors and newly planted churches.

    Peter (B-House) and Jennifer Joneleit

Since 2003, B-House and Jennifer Joneleit have lived and ministered in Germany with Proclaim! International. From their home base they have traveled into countries with varying degrees of openness to Christianity (including Croatia and Albania) as part of Proclaim’s tours. Proclaim! partners with local mission agencies and national churches to help them evangelize their own regions. They put together musical “tours” featuring various bands that would appeal to each region. The bands put on free concerts in city centers, concert halls, and parks to draw a crowd. During the concert and after, the band members share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those that attend.

B-House serves as an evangelist (both from the stage and with individuals) and trains local believers to evangelize their neighbors. He also works with local pastors to help them meet and welcome new believers who accept the Lord during the Proclaim tours. When not on tour, the Joneleits teach swing dancing in their village as a means to make new friends. They also be-friend their neighbors through Jennifer’s baking and they connect with other missionaries to encourage and minister to them.

The Joneleits are just finishing a mandatory furlough (366 days out-of-Germany). They had some fun, visited friends and family, attended a missionary restoration program, and ministered at their supporting churches. As they return to Germany with their growing family, B-House and Jennifer will begin to focus on a possible church-plant through a local church, in addition to other opportunities through Proclaim.

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Joneleits:
-Pray for the whole family’s health, strength and safety.
-Pray for continual spiritual growth in Christlikeness.
    -Pray for a healthy marriage.
-Pray for wisdom as they focus on the possible church plant.
-Pray that the Joneleits will be effective in evangelism.
-Pray that they desire close relationships with their ministry partners.
-Pray for an ample supply of prayer and financial support. Right now, $1 U.S. can get them 67 Euro cents. They must raise additional monthly support. Pray for finances to fly the family back to Germany, for visas, housing deposit, etc.

    Fred and Carol Lewis

red and Carol are currently seconded (on a temporary assignment) to the US Center for World Mission, in Pasadena, CA.

Fred and Carol have been missionaries since 1983, serving in Uganda, Ukraine and Russia. While they have been involved in evangelism and church planting, they have primarily served as teachers and leadership developers in Bible colleges. In Uganda they were instrumental in building a Bible School in a remote area. Once the Bible School was established, the Lewises left it in the hands of trained nationals and accepted the call of the Lord to Russia.

They lived in Ukraine while learning Russian and then taught at a Bible school in Zaporosia, Ukraine. Two years later the Lord called them to Omsk, Western Siberia. Fred taught classes at the Bible school and Carol led women's classes for the wives of students, wives of regional religious leaders, and widows. Each group was unique in the Russian culture. While on furlough, the Lewises visited OCF and spoke of the closed culture and the successes they were beginning to have after living among the students long enough to earn their trust.

An injury to Fred brought them back to the States in 2005 for treatment and recovery. Then in 2007, Fred and Carol began working at the US Center for World Mission. Missionaries on staff there have two primary responsibilities. First, they participate in the “think-tank”, daily coming together to develop, discuss and debate new and better strategies for reaching the remaining unreached peoples of the world for Christ. Secondly, all contribute their cross-cultural expertise to various ministries on-site at the US Center campus.

Fred serves as Academic Dean for William Carey International University - a graduate training school for Global South pastors and missionaries. Carol serves on the Perspectives course global desk - developing new sites and training leaders for new Perspectives classes all over the world. She was a member of the editorial committee for the 4th (latest) edition of the Perspectives Reader.

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Lewises
-Pray for their physical health and for spiritual wisdom.
-Pray also for increased financial support.
-Please pray for Carol’s father, who has Alzheimer’s disease and is under hospice care.
-Pray for Fred and Carol’s daughter Connie. Connie is currently looking for work.
-Pray for continued blessing on their work at the US Center - for much fruit to come from their teaching and leadership.

    Darrin and Vivian Mabuni

A record-setting 18 million college students were enrolled at America's colleges and universities as of Fall, 2008. When surveyed, 76% of students said that they are on a spiritual quest to find meaning, purpose and God. Sadly though, many students who indicated they attended worship services frequently in high school rarely attend in college. By their junior year, the number reporting they never attend a service doubles. On more than 1000 campuses across America, Campus Crusade staff, volunteers, and student leaders are working to change those statistics.

Darrin and Vivian Mabuni have been serving with Campus Crusade for Christ for close to fifteen years. They have served on various campuses, and were very involved here at OCF until the Lord led them down to the San Diego area. Darrin is currently Facilitator for the Operations Team working with the Regional Office (California-Arizona-Hawaii) and is also Director for the EPIC Conference ministry, a ministry to Asian-American college students. Vivian currently serves on the Epic National Executive Team as the National Director of Recruiting. She also is working on her Masters Degree at Talbot Seminary in Christian Ministry and Leadership with an emphasis in Women's Ministry and a specialization with Asian American women. They both travel and speak frequently - always seeking to reach students’ hearts for Jesus Christ.

Recently Darrin and Vivian have become an integral part of getting student teams to Japan. With 125 million people in Japan, and only 0.37 percent of those being Christian, Japan is the largest un-reached people group in the world. When the Mabunis joined Campus Crusade, they thought they would be overseas, but sending college students they have trained and discipled has been a powerful reminder of God's faithfulness to use them as equippers and senders.

    IMPORTANT NOTE!
Many of the Mabuni family’s plans are “on hold” because just before Christmas, Vivian was diagnosed with breast cancer. Please read and faithfully pray through their prayer needs!

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Mabunis
-Pray for Vivian’s strength and courage as she recovers from surgery and enters chemo (and later, radiation treatments). Vivian will be under the care of excellent doctors and specialists. Pray for them - especially for wisdom and skill.
-Pray for finances - and pray that all insurance procedures will go smoothly.
-Darrin carries the bulk of the burden of caring for the family. Pray the Lord continues to give him emotional strength as well as physical stamina for the family’s needs.
-Pray also for each of the kids, and for the Mabunis’ marriage to remain strong during this stressful time.
-Pray for the Mabuni family to know that the Presence of their Lord is with them through this season.

    Bryan and Jacinda Martin

Bryan and Jacinda Martin have been serving in the Philippines with World Team since 2002. They live in a remote village on the island of Catanduanes. While strong churches exist in the big city of Manila, the rural areas like Catanduanes have yet to be reached with the Gospel. World Team’s focus is on training national believers to do the work, so a main focus for Bryan and Jacinda is training new leaders through Bible studies. Their Bible studies are set up to be easily reproducible, and they rejoice every time a new Bible study begins. Growing churches who plant other churches is the only way that the rugged area of Northern Catanduanes can be reached.

One of the obstacles to the Gospel is the problem of alcoholism which leads to a breakdown of families. In September, Bryan and Jacinda helped sponsor a Marriage Seminar with a banquet the last day. 26 couples attended! These seminars expose people to practical Biblical teaching on relevant subjects, which then opens them up to studying the Bible in small groups.

Establishing reproducing churches requires sensitivity to the local culture. What method of teaching will be most effective? Bryan notes that “much of what people will learn will be from observing us as missionaries.” The Martins strive to be a vital part of the community. Their children attend local Filipino schools and participate in the events in the life of the community. After a year’s furlough, the Martins rushed back to the Philippines in time to get Arwen started in kindergarten and Imogen in second grade. Just like in the U.S., that means buying clothes (uniforms) and supplies - including a machete for Imogen, who takes her machete to school every day to help with the gardening!

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Martins
    - Bryan is temporarily an Acting Field Director. It only has a small effect on his local ministry however, he does need prayer for wisdom as he is tasked with managing various conflicts and issues that arise.
    - Pray that the people who attended the Marriage Seminar will start attending a Bible study.
    - Pray for the people who are already in Bible studies to be bold in sharing their faith and starting new Bible studies.
    - Pray for the Martins - for health, unity and love, and for each of them to be a testimony to the love of God. CONTACT INFO:

Also check out their blog! It’s both intense and humorous reading and filled with pictures. You will be greatly inspired to keep the Martins in prayer!

    Gerardo and Bertha Moralez

The Moralez family is thankful to the Lord for the faithful prayers and financial support of their OCF friends.

Gerardo (”Jerry”) and Bertha Moralez live in the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. Gerardo Moralez worked alongside Tom Munnerlyn, a former OCF missionary, and when the Munnerlyns retired from the missions field, the Moralez family continued the work they had begun.

The Moralezes have given their lives to reach the people in Oaxaca for Jesus Christ. Jerry is a traveling pastor, a church planter and a discipler. He and Bertha coordinate the Alpha and Omega Bible Camp each year where youth are transformed through coming to Jesus as their Savior. Jerry also works with Wycliff Bible translators in preparing audio tapes. This past year, Jerry gathered Christian men from three villages in Oaxaca to attend their first men’s retreat! It was held at the new campground the ministry has purchased. The men prayed for the future of the land, that water could be found, and also prayed for themselves - that they would walk faithfully with the Lord so that His Word could extend through the whole region. Another first time event: In August 2008, the Moralez family held the first-ever Vacation Bible School at one of the churches that Jerry founded and now pastors. 25 children attended VBS, and Pastor Jerry is full of praise to the Lord for each child and for all that was accomplished in their hearts.

    PRAYER NEEDS for the Moralezes
    - Pray for the Moralez family - for their physical and spiritual needs, and for more workers to join them.
    - Please pray for the development of their new campground. Pray for water to be found, and for finances that are needed to build campground facilities.
    - Give thanks for the powerful ways God is using the ministry of the Moralez family.
    - Pray for increased financial support for their family and their ministries.
    - Pray for continued blessing for the Men’s Retreats, Bible Studies, and other ministries through the church of San Miguel Albarradas (where Jerry pastors).
    - Isaias (the oldest son) is praying that the Lord will provide adequate finances so he can attend seminary.

    CONTACT INFO:
Because the Moralezes speak very little English, we communicate through Don Nellis, field director for United Indian Missions (UIM)\ in Mexico. Don was born and raised in Oaxaca as his parents were missionaries there for 60 some years. He now lives in Southern California but travels many times a year for UIM.
