    Purpose

The purpose of the Prayer Ministry at OCF is to actively encourage and promote prayer in the life of the church. As our hearts are open and responsive to the Holy Spirit, we pray that God’s love, guidance, forgiveness and healing power will be released for the benefit of His people and for His glory.

All plans and decisions regarding the church are covered with prayer, as are our pastors and elders, our ministries, our congregation, our missionaries and our local and national leaders.

Before and after services, church leaders are available to pray with all who request prayer. During worship services, individuals are encouraged to submit prayer requests, which our women’s prayer team and elders pray for during the week. Members of our prayer chain are committed to praying for the special needs and concerns of our people.

As needs arise, we support and care for each other in practical ways through Prayer and Care ministries.

    How to Submit Prayer Requests

    Elders Only Prayer Requests
Elders pray weekly for all prayer requests submitted on registration slips marked “Elders only.” These are confidential and are seen only by the Elders.

Elders & Weekly OCF Prayer Team
Prayer requests are submitted on registration slips and are marked, “Elders and weekly OCF prayer teams.” The Elders & the Women’s Prayer Team pray for all requests on the prayer list, which is updated weekly. All prayer requests are confidential.

    Prayer Chain
The E-mail/Telephone Prayer Chain enables the church body to submit urgent prayer requests to the church office (310-414-4555) or to the Deacon of Prayer via email for intercessory prayer by all those who are part of the prayer chain. Prayer requests are communicated by e-mail or telephone. All prayer requests are confidential.

    Intercessory Prayer

    Individual Prayer
A pastor, elder and one or more prayer team members are available in the Prayer Room before and after each service to pray with all those requesting prayer.

    Intercessory Prayer for our Church
Intercessory prayer will be offered during each service, in the Prayer Room, for pastors, teachers, congregation, youth and children.

Prayer support is offered each week for our pastors, elders and staff.

24-Hours of Prayer by the congregation takes place on Good Friday. Participants sign up for 15 minute time slots throughout the day and night.

Half days of prayer are scheduled once or twice a year at OCF.

    Prayer & Praise Services
Evening Prayer and Praise services are held several times each year. The elders are available to pray with all those requesting prayer.
