Series: The Gospel According to Luke
Pastor Mark Stepp preaches from Luke 6:17-36, where Jesus teaching and proclaiming the “blessings” of living in the kingdom of God and the “woes” that will come to those who do not believe.
We learn that because we are Christians, we may experience suffering or loss or persecution. In these times, we are to remember that we are destined for eternal blessing and we can rest in that promise. Jesus also teaches us that we are to be kind and merciful, even to our enemies, and we must pity those who trust in their worldly riches but do not trust God. To live counter-culturally, we are to live with an awareness of the Lord’s kindness and mercy to us and to show that same mercy to those around us.
