Bible Text: Luke 3:23-38 | John Hutchison
Series: The Gospel According to Luke
Continuing our series in the Gospel of Luke and focused on Luke 3:23-38 and Matthew 1:11-17, Pastor John reveals many of the hidden treasures revealed in the genealogies of Jesus Christ.
In both the Jewish and Gentile cultures of that day, genealogies were very important. Jews and Gentiles used genealogies to summarize history, magnify an individual’s status, and honor the individual and their family. For example, of special importance to the Jewish people was ANY reference to the Messianic line descending from King David.
Pastor John surveys the entire passage and draws our attention to many important biblical stories that meant a great deal – and continue to mean a great deal – as people of all nations and throughout all ages worship Jesus Christ, Son of Adam, Son of God, and our Messiah and Savior.
