Luke chapter 4 tells how Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness across the Jordan to be tempted by the devil. In the temptation, Jesus identifies with Adam and with the nation of Israel – both who failed to be obedient to God.  Filled with the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, Jesus, Son of God, proves himself worthy of the mission ahead.

Jesus, Son of God, is our King and Savior. But He also is our example. We can grow in Christ-likeness if we seek to walk filled by His Spirit and the knowledge of the Word, and if we are committed to fulfilling our Father’s will.
