Pastor Chris Robbins continues our series, Flourishing: The Way Things Are Meant To Be, by looking at 1 Corinthians 12 as Paul writes about spiritual gifts and the unity of the members of Christ in one body. Pastor Chris refers to Ezekiel 47:21-23, Revelation 7:9-12, and Colossian 3:1-4,11 discussing how the nations of the biblical times compares to the church of today and how even though diversity exists then and now, we are to use our spiritual gifts to put away our old self, and put on our new self to be in harmony with each other.

The Proof is in the Pudding

Date: February 3, 2019

Bible Text: Luke 7:18-35 |

Today we are in Luke 7:18-35 (and the parallel passage in Matthew 11:2-19). Pastor Chris takes a look at what John the Baptist was expecting of the Messiah, and why he had doubts that Jesus was the Promised One. Jesus answers John’s questions by pointing back to the descriptions of the Messiah found in Isaiah 35:5-6 and 61:1-4. He is moving among the people as a teacher and a healer, and He has demonstrated His authority over life and death. Our own doubts that the Lord sees, knows and loves us, can grow when we are overwhelmed by the pain of life

Bible Text: Luke 6:37-49 |

Pastor Chris Robbins continues our series in the Gospel of Luke with a message from Luke 6:37-49. To live well, we need to take Jesus’ foundational teachings and: 1) Come to Him in trust, 2) Really “hear” His teachings, and 3) Put them into practice. As we grow in Him, we will learn to respond to others the way that God responds to us – with grace, love and mercy. It is a walk of humility before God, seeking to follow the life Jesus Christ lived before us.
